Darya Kapulina-Filina



Darya, of counsel to the firm, represents early-stage and mature U.S. companies and serves as U.S. counsel to international companies in all aspects of intellectual property law, corporate law, and dispute resolution. Darya’s approach focuses on assisting clients to meet their goals through strategic planning and individualized guidance – whether tackling a crushing litigation or a high-stakes business deal. Darya’s methodology is to regard clients as colleagues and foster collaboration though active-decision making.


Darya possesses in-depth experience in intellectual property and commercial litigation, including actions based upon software and music copyright infringement, unfair competition, trade secret misappropriation, trademark and design patent infringement and shareholder litigation.

For the past twelve years, Darya has attained victorious rulings from Federal and New York Courts, sizable arbitration awards and successful settlements.  Darya also specializes in copyright and trademark prosecution and has a proven track record of obtaining registrations in 100% of her filed applications.

Darya has also structured complex commercial transactions including mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, manufacturing, sales and distribution agreements and licensing. Darya continually advises companies from the Russian Federation, Republic of Kazakhstan and Ukraine on all aspects of formation of U.S.-based subsidiaries.


Darya was previously a partner at Shelowitz Law Group and a senior associate at Pomerantz LLP and Pearl Cohen.  For the past six years, Darya was been named a “New York Metro Rising Star” by the New York Metro Super Lawyers magazine and one of the “Top Women Attorneys in New York” by the New York Times Magazine.


Darya is a 2006 graduate of Hofstra University School of Law and specialized in corporate finance, economics and political science at SUNY Stony Brook.
